Meditation Mantra Series – #1

When painting layers in this artwork, I meditated on the mantra “Aham Brahmasmi”, which in Sanskrit means “I Am The Universe”. The use of mantras is heavily infused into this painting, and can be loosely seen through the exposed layers in the background. Sacred symbols are incorporated into two of the painted layers, including the Sanskrit symbols for each chakra, the Om symbol, Alpha and Omega, the eye of Ra, and two mandalas.

The energy of freedom and creativity are embedded into this work, and will infuse any space with the same energy! Each color of the rainbow and the 7 chakras are included in this work.

Finally, the image of the Hamsa hand (the hand of God) is facing up (in the Abhaya Mudra) and is a symbol of universal protection against evil. Lastly, the image of Vastu Ganesha (trunk facing left) is on top, and is well known as the universal remover of obstacles and patron of the arts.
